Custom software.From Tyrol.Without lock-in.
We build software that fits your business exactly: websites, web apps, AI and automation. You get the full source code, all access – and no dependency on us.
In short
InnovationLAB GmbH is a custom software studio from Tyrol, Austria, based in Wörgl with team members on site in Innsbruck and Graz. We build custom software for companies in Tyrol, Salzburg, Styria, all of Austria and the DACH region: agent-ready websites, customer portals, web apps, integrations between existing systems, legacy system replacement, AI features and automations. Our clients include Best Alpine Wellness Hotels, Alpbacherhof, Hotel Krallerhof, Mitterdorfer Plus, Reisebüro Idealtours, Gaun und Partner Steuerberatung and Le Burger. Automations often go live within a few weeks, portals and web apps within 6 to 24 weeks depending on scope. You receive the full source code, documentation and all access – and can run the software yourself or with any other provider.
01Digital presence Standard
Agent-ready websites
Your next customers no longer search. Their assistant searches for them. We build websites it finds, understands – and books on.
We design and build web presences for two visitors: the human and the AI assistant that searches and books on their behalf. Found: ChatGPT, Perplexity, Google AI Mode and Claude cite sources they can read. Understood: prices, hours and availability are structured and machine-readable. Operated: the web concierge is an endpoint for agents. Always included in new builds; existing sites can be retrofitted in 1–3 weeks.
Agent-ready isn't an add-on – it's field 01, included in every web project and retrofitted to existing sites in 1–3 weeks.
Typical starting points4
- ChatGPT and Perplexity name your competitor – not you
- Your site looks great to people and is a black box to agents
- Booking agents give up at your form
- Dated site, slow loading, no clear path to an enquiry
How we approach it4 steps
- Audit & agent-ready checkAnalysis of your current presence, competitors and KPIs – plus: we ask five AI systems what they know about you and whether an agent could book with you.
- Design & conceptWireframes and a design system for two audiences: people (interface) and agents (structured data, endpoints) – before the first line of code.
- Build · found & understoodFast, mobile first, GDPR-compliant. Crawler access, llms.txt, complete Schema.org, facts straight from the source system – every sprint tested with real agents.
- Launch · operatedCore Web Vitals, SEO basics – and the web concierge as an agent endpoint with permission levels, optionally an API/MCP server. Agent actions labelled (EU AI Act).

Ideal for
- Hotels, tourism & hospitality aiming for direct bookings
- Online shops ahead of the agentic-commerce wave
- SMEs and corporates with outdated web infrastructure
02Custom software
Web apps & portals
Custom software, tailored precisely to your processes. We connect what exists – and replace what can't be connected.
Internal tools, customer portals, dashboards and integrations. We connect existing systems such as ERP, CRM, POS or hotel PMS and replace systems that can't be integrated – including data migration. You receive the full source code, documentation and all access.
Typical starting points4
- Off-the-shelf software fits 70 % and costs 100 %
- Media breaks between Excel, email and ERP
- No self-service portal for customers
- The data exists but isn't usable
How we approach it4 steps
- RequirementsWorkshops with the people who will use the software every day.
- PrototypeA clickable prototype for early validation – before anything expensive gets built.
- Development in sprintsTwo-week sprints with a joint review.
- Rollout & docsTraining, documentation, source code handover.

Ideal for
- Mid-sized companies with grown processes

- Reports built by hand every week
- Approvals run through email
- Notifications arrive late or not at all
How we approach it4 steps
- Process mappingWhich processes really hurt? A joint analysis.

Typical starting points4
- The team loses context when channels switch

An honest comparison
Off-the-shelf softwareor custom software?
| Feature | Off-the-shelf / site builder | Custom software by InnovationLAB |
|---|---|---|
| Fit | You adapt to the software | The software adapts to you |
| Running costs | Licence per user, price increases | No user licences, maintenance optional |
| Ownership | with the vendor | with you |
| Integrations | only what the vendor allows | whatever you need |
| Switching | costly, data export often limited | any time – code and docs are yours |
| Time to start | immediate | a few weeks to months |
Off-the-shelf software is ready sooner. That's why we always check first whether a ready-made solution exists.
It's worth it if …
- your processes are a competitive advantage that no standard product covers
- several systems run side by side and nobody connects them
- licence costs rise every year
- the standard software covers 70 % and the rest happens in Excel
- your data should stay with you
It's not worth it if …
- a ready-made product solves 95 % of your problem. Then we'll tell you – we take no commissions from software vendors.
Often the best solution is a mix: standard software plus a tailored integration or interface.
Cost & duration
What does it cost –and how long does it take?
It depends on the scope. The price is driven mainly by:
- how many systems are connected or replaced
- how many user roles and workflows the software covers
- whether data is migrated from a legacy system
- whether we run it or your IT does
After the free first conversation you get an initial estimate; after the concept phase, a binding project plan with budget.
Typical time to go-live
Projects usually start 1–2 weeks after the order.
FAQ
Frequently asked questionsabout custom software
What does custom software cost?
It depends on the scope: how many systems are connected, how many user roles and workflows the software covers, and whether data is migrated from a legacy system. After the free first conversation you get an initial estimate, and after the concept phase a binding project plan with budget.
How long does development take?
Automations usually go live in 2–8 weeks, omnichannel setups in 1–4 weeks, new websites in 4–12 weeks, AI integrations in 3–16 weeks and portals or web apps in 6–24 weeks depending on scope. You see progress after every two-week sprint.
Do I own the source code?
Yes. You receive the full source code as a Git repository, the documentation and all access. It's written into the contract.
Will I depend on InnovationLAB afterwards?
No. You can run the software yourself or with any other provider. A maintenance contract with us is optional.
How secure is the software and where is it hosted?
We build GDPR-compliant software with encrypted transport, a role and permission concept and regular backups. Hosting is wherever you want it: in the EU, in Austria or on your own infrastructure.
Can you connect existing systems instead of rebuilding everything?
Yes – that's often the fastest and cheapest route. We connect ERP, CRM, POS, accounting and industry software such as hotel PMS via APIs, webhooks or data imports.
What if a system has no API?
Then we look at alternatives such as exports or data access approved by the vendor. If a system can't be connected at all, we replace it with our own solution and migrate your data.
Who does InnovationLAB work for?
For companies in hospitality, tourism, gastronomy, retail, industry and services – including Best Alpine Wellness Hotels, Alpbacherhof, Hotel Krallerhof, Mitterdorfer Plus, Reisebüro Idealtours, Gaun und Partner Steuerberatung and Le Burger.
Do you also work for companies in Innsbruck, Salzburg or Graz?
Yes. We're based in Wörgl, with team members on site in Innsbruck and Graz. We work for companies across Tyrol, Salzburg, Styria, all of Austria and the DACH region – on site or remotely.
Isn't custom software more expensive than off-the-shelf?
Often at the start, often not over the years: there are no per-user licence fees and you don't pay for features you never use. If a standard solution fits better, we'll tell you.
Who looks after the software after go-live?
Your choice: us with a maintenance contract and fixed response times, your own IT, or another provider. Documentation and source code make every option possible.
